Méribel sits at the geographical and spiritual centre of Les 3 Vallées, the largest connected ski area in the world. Six hundred kilometres of piste. Three valleys. Twenty minutes to Courchevel one way, twenty minutes to Val Thorens the other. If you love to ski, or love the mountains for their own sake, there is no better base in the Alps.
Our residence sits in Méribel Centre, three hundred and fifty metres from the Chaudanne lift station. Walk out in ski boots, park the car on arrival, forget it until departure.
Highlights
The gondola from Méribel Centre reaches Saulire (2,738 m) in fifteen minutes. From there the entire 3 Vallées network opens up: Courchevel one way, Val Thorens the other.

Traditional chalet-style architecture protected since 1938, walkable centre, warm evening atmosphere, and no vehicle needed once you arrive. The party scenes at La Folie Douce and O'Sullivans are minutes away when you want them.
The lifts reopen for mountain biking and hiking from June to September. Wildflower meadows, the Lac de Tueda glacial lake, and via ferrata on the surrounding cliffs. A quieter and equally beautiful season.
The Combe Saulire down toward Courchevel is one of the finest cruising pistes in the Alps. Tougnète, on the opposite side of the valley, is quieter than Saulire and holds snow beautifully. For advanced skiers, Mont du Vallon offers steep north-facing terrain that keeps powder for days after a storm. Book a private guide and see the whole domain in three days.
Geneva Airport is about two hours by private chauffeur, Lyon and Chambéry closer to two and a half. The TGV runs direct from Paris and London (Eurostar Snow Train, December to March) to Moutiers, thirty minutes from Méribel. Helicopter transfers from Geneva land at the Courchevel Altiport or the Méribel helipad, adding roughly thirty minutes of flight and a five-minute car transfer. The Olympic ice rink, built for the 1992 Albertville Games, hosts public sessions year round. Snowshoeing through silent pine forests, spa afternoons at nearby Brides-les-Bains, and evening tastings of Savoie wines are all a phone call away. The mountain rewards visitors who slow down as well as those who chase vertical.
