Airbnb is a marketplace. The platform earned its place by making it easy to list any home, from a spare room to a private island. When it works, it works. When it does not, guests find out on arrival, and the only recourse is a support ticket.
The Haven Collection is not a marketplace. Every residence is personally visited and chosen. Every stay is managed by our own team, not by a stranger reading messages between flights. If you have booked luxury villas both ways, you already know the difference in how the two experiences feel. This page is written for the person who is deciding for the first time.

For a weekend in a city, a marketplace works fine. You are essentially renting a hotel room without the front desk. When something goes wrong, the stakes are low, and the platform's support flow is enough. For a week in a villa in Martinique with your family, or a corporate offsite in Méribel with your leadership team, the stakes are different. What matters is that the person who took your booking still has their phone next to them when your ski instructor cancels or your teenager decides she wants a private chef for her birthday.
Every residence in the collection has been walked through by our founder before being added. We photograph our own properties. We know which suites get the morning light and which get the late sun. We know which bathrooms have the deep tub and which have the walk-in shower. Airbnb hosts range from full-time professionals to first-time listers who inherited an apartment; the platform gives you no reliable way to tell them apart before you arrive. Curation is not a marketing word for us; it is why the collection exists.
On Airbnb, the price you see is not the price you pay. Service fees, cleaning fees, and occupancy taxes are added at checkout, often adding 20 to 30 percent to the base rate. Our pricing on the site includes the VAT, and the local taxe de séjour is calculated and shown clearly before you confirm. There is no service fee. If you take the total we quote and divide by the number of guests, you can compare apples to apples with any platform.
To be honest: sometimes it is. If you are travelling on a shorter budget, or your requirements are simple, a well-run Airbnb can be great. We do not want to be everyone's answer. We are the answer for guests who want the residence to feel like it was chosen and prepared for them, and who value the difference between a rental and a personal stay.
